Tournament General Rules & Regulations
- The tournament rules will be based on the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook. However, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to make the final decision on any disputes or any other matters that may arise.
- Substitutions of players or changes in team composition / partnership will not be permitted after the draw has been finalised.
- Players failing to show up for their matches more than 10 minutes from their match time will have their matches forfeited or a walkover will be given to their opponents, with the score recorded as 0-15.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to close the registration once registrations are full.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel the tournament due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, registration fees will be refunded, after deduction of administrative fees of RM10.
- All participants must be 19 years of age and above.
- All scores will be recorded and uploaded on DUPR.

- If two or more teams have the same win–loss record at the end of group play, standings will be determined in the following order:
- Head-to-Head Result (only used if exactly two teams are tied)
- Total Point Differential (points scored minus points conceded across all group matches)
- Coin Toss (conducted by the Tournament Director – In the rare event the head-to-head match was
cancelled / not played)
In the event of any disagreement, including but not limited to line calls, score disputes, or procedural confusion, Players must first attempt to resolve the matter respectfully among themselves. If the issue remains unresolved, the Referee may pause the match and refer the matter to the Tournament Director for a final decision.
- Players must not delay the match indefinitely, and repeated refusal to continue play may result in a default or forfeit at the discretion of the Organisers.
- Any disputes must be raised immediately with the Referee or Tournament Director during the match. Only disputes concerning score discrepancies or rule violations will be considered, and no retrospective challenges shall be entertained once the match has concluded. Upon official recording and announcement of match results, all outcomes shall be deemed final and binding, and no further complaints, appeals, or disputes will be accepted under any circumstances.
ELIGIBILITY
- Players must be at least 19 years of age or older as of the tournament date.
- Players registering for the Novice category must not have any previous podium finishes in any prior tournaments; regardless of size, type, level, category, format, or hosting platform. Any player found to have prior podium finishes will be disqualified.
- Players are required to provide a valid DUPR ID during registration.
- Players who do not yet have a DUPR rating must self-assess their skill level. Final approval of participation remains at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
- All players are expected to compete with integrity and fairness. The use of multiple DUPR accounts, or creating accounts specifically to qualify for certain categories, is strictly prohibited. Any violation will result in disqualification, and the matter will be reported to DUPR for further investigation.
- Intentionally manipulating DUPR ratings—including submitting fraudulent match results or deliberately losing matches to lower one’s rating—is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in disqualification or suspension, and reports will be submitted to DUPR.
- All DUPR ratings will be screened and verified against official records prior to the tournament.
- Players are responsible for ensuring they meet the DUPR rating requirements at the time of registration. Any player found not meeting the requirements will have their registration cancelled without refund of the registration fee.
Dress Code
- Slippers, flip-flops, sandals, or any inappropriate footwear are strictly prohibited on the courts.
- Players registering for the Novice category must not have any previous podium finishes in tournaments. Any player found to have prior podium results will be disqualified.
- Players are encouraged to dress respectfully and in the spirit of the sport to maintain a professional and safe playing environment.
- Players who do not yet have a DUPR rating must self-assess their skill level. Final approval of participation remains at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
Player Conduct
- All players are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play throughout the Tournament.
- Players must treat all Tournament Officials, Technical Officers, Referees, Event Crew, spectators, and fellow players with respect, courtesy and professionalism always.
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour, verbal abuse, or misconduct may result in immediate disqualification or other disciplinary action, at the sole discretion of the Organisers.
- Prohibited behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
- Racist, sexist or discriminatory remark; use of profanity, spitting, taunting, or trash talk
- Slamming paddles, balls, or other equipment in frustration or anger
- Persistent arguing with Tournament Officials, Technical Officers, Referees, or other players
- Deliberate stalling, time-wasting, or engaging with tactics that violate the spirit of fair competition.
- Smoking, vaping, and the consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited within the tournament venue, including all courts, spectator areas, and surrounding facilities.
- The Organisers reserve the right to take disciplinary action, including warnings, point deductions, match forfeitures, or removal from the Tournament, as deemed appropriate.

Withdrawals
- Players who wish to withdraw must notify the Tournament Committee in writing (email or WhatsApp) as early as possible and no later than 1 week before the tournament date.
- Withdrawals made before the close of registration may be eligible for replacement or other consideration. The Organisers will find the replacement for the players.
- Approved medical withdrawals will be granted, subject to the Organisers’ discretion.
Partner Replacements (Doubles Only)
- In the event that a registered player is unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances, a partner replacement may be allowed prior to the tournament, subject to the following conditions:
- A valid reason with documented proof must be provided for the replacement to be permitted (e.g. injuries, sickness or emergencies).
- The replacement player must meet the eligibility requirements, including age and DUPR rating criteria of the division entered.
- The team may nominate another player of the same gender as a replacement, provided that the replacement meets all player’s eligibility requirements stated in these Terms & Conditions and is approved by the Organisers.
- The change is subject to approval by the Tournament Director. Replacements that may impact the tournament seeding – particularly for top-seeded teams, may be rejected.
- No replacements are allowed once a team has played its first match, regardless of the reason.
Event Terms & Conditions
Please read all of the Terms & Conditions carefully. Each individual (“Participants”) who registers to participate in the AmBank Malaysia Pickleball Championship 2026 (the “Event”) declares and acknowledges to have read, understood and agreed to the terms & conditions and undertakes to comply with and be bound by the same.
- The Event is organised by SCORE Sports Management Sdn Bhd (the “Organiser”.
- The Event will be held on 19 June 2026, Friday to 21 June 2026, Sunday (“Date”) at PLAYA Racquet Club @ PARC Subang (“Venue”). The Organiser reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Event at any time.

- By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to participate in the Event or any activity(ies) relating to the Event or involving the Organiser and the Event sponsors (the “Sponsors’) (if any), the Participant is deemed to have agreed / given express permission to the following:
- a. Authorization to the Organiser, its agent(s) and/or contractor(s) to collect, process, organise and retain personal data relating to the Participant.
- The Personal Data of the Participant(s) shall be used by the Organiser for the purposes of:
- Marketing – sending communication materials to the Participant, including but not limited to, direct mailers, emails, short messaging service and/or telephone calls; and
- Statistical analysis for planning and improvement of the Event.
- As the Event owner, the Organiser may engage the services of third parties to process the Participant’s Personal Data as well as the production of essential items required for the smooth operation of the Event in or outside of Malaysia. For such purposes, Participants shall be deemed to have given his/her consent to the transfer of all or any Personal Data to any such third party’s location in or outside of Malaysia, All such third parties are contractually obliged not to use the Participant’s Personal Data for any other purpose, other than as specified herein or for the purposes of the Event.
- The Participant shall be deemed to have withdrawn from participating in the Event if he/she withdraws his/her consent or authorization given at any time before the Event starts.
- The Organiser will take reasonable precautions to keep the Participant’s Personal Data secured and similarly ensure any third-party data processors to do the same.
- The Organiser may disclose or release the Participant’s Personal Data, if the Organiser reasonably believes that it is necessary, desirable or required to do so by applicable law or governmental regulation or by any competent body or authority, or by legal process, or to respond to any claim, or to protect the rights, interest or property of the Organiser or others.
- Any updates on the Event including any changes to the Rules and Regulations, Privacy Policy or any other terms & conditions of the Event will be posted on the Official Website & Official Registration Website. It is the responsibility of the Participant to keep abreast with such updates and changes. The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
- Event Participation
- Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participant’s safety, Participant participates in the Event at their own risk. The Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death, damage or loss of property, whether personal or otherwise, suffered or caused, arising from training for, during participation, or after participation in the Event. Participant is strongly advised to go for medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the Date of the Event.
- Participants must retire from the Event immediately, if required to do so by any member of the Event’s official medical staff, Event director, referee and/or security officer.
- It is the sole responsibility of every participant to inform the medical staff/safety marshal on duty regarding any injury or reason that they cannot exercise.
- Should any participant feel fatigue, restless, or an injury at any time during or before the session, they must immediately inform the medical staff and refrain from joining the session.
- The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs, images, motion pictures, recordings, and/or any other media records of the Event (including those of the Participant and of his/her name and other information without any compensation or payment or any prior notice), for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution by the Organiser in any form of media or medium and for such duration as the Organiser deems fit whether within Malaysia or elsewhere.
- Registration
- Everyone is required to register via online registration at https://www.sportssync.asia/tournament/193 (“Official Registration Website”)
- All participants must complete the registration process, including payment before the registration deadline is closed. Late registrations or incomplete entries will not be entertained.
- Registration fees are strictly non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Event Organiser. Should the tournament be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, the registration fees will be refunded to participants, after deduction of administrative fees of RMI0.
- If registration falls below 50% of the intended capacity, the prize values will be reduced accordingly.
- Participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation arrangements; Event Organiser will not be held liable for any costs incurred.
- Check In
- All participants are required to register / check-in at the registration / tournament desk at least 30 minutes before the scheduled event / time.
- Identification document (ie. NRIC or Passport) must be presented during check-in for verification purposes. A waiver form must be signed as well.
- Code of Conduct
- All participants are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and abide by the tournament rules. Misconduct, unsportsmanlike behaviour, or violation of event code of conduct may result in disqualification.
- Health and Safety
- While the Event Organiser will ensure a safe and well-organised environment, participants are expected to be responsible for their own health and fitness to compete in the tournament.
- b. By participating, participants acknowledge and accept the risks associated with pickleball and agree not to hold the Organiser or its organising committee liable for any injuries sustained during the event.
- Dress Code
- Participants must wear proper sporting attire and non-marking court shoes. Slippers, flip-flops or sandals are not allowed on the courts.
- Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes must be raised immediately with the referee or tournament director during the match.
- Only valid disputes regarding score discrepancies or rule violations will be considered, and no retrospective challenges will be entertained.
- Clash of matches
- In the event of a clash in matches, players are required to choose only 1 match to play and the other match will be deemed as a walkover given to the opponent.
